Beginner Tap

Tap is America's original dance form that uses the feet to express rhythm and song. Throw on a pair of Tap shoes and you can instantly speak a universal language- music. Using different parts of the shoe to create "notes" and rhythms, we can develop phrases that when put together add up to our own unique song and dance. History (dances, steps, stories, and perhaps an occasional video) is also an important part of understanding Tap and will be shared/ discussed for a few minutes in each class.

Time: Wednesdays, 5—6:00 p.m.
Cost: $10 or $20 for both Beginner and Intermediate
Instructor: Kate Cavenagh
Registration: Walk-ins are welcome.

Intermediate Tap

This class will focus on technique, speed, rhythm, musicality, and phrasing. We will learn about the musical side of Tap and advanced concepts, including counterpoint, poly-rhythms, time steps, and melody. No experience is necessary as we can modify all steps to your ability, but a good sense of musicality is helpful!

Time: Wednesdays, 6—7:00 p.m.
Cost: $12 or $20 for both Beginner and Intermediate
Instructor: Kate Cavenagh
Registration: Walk-ins are welcome.
